Gwendraeth Tour & Classic Motor Show 2009

With a warm sun making a habit of hanging in blue skies it’s a great time to wheel out the classics  for two great annual Gwendraeth valley motor club  events, The Gwendraeth Tour and The Classic Motor Show.

2009 Gwendraeth Tour


Tour 2007 lunchGently threading it’s way along some of the finest drivers roads in Wales it’s easy to understand what keeps drawing an ever growing band of enthusiasts to the Gwendraeth tour. Starting from Pontyberem, the seat of Gwendraeth valley motor club, the tour will take it’s particiapnts up the Gwendraeth valley and onwards along much of the upper Towy valley to it’s head taking in a circuit of the beautiful Llyn Brianne. Timeless scenery and roads, unchanged from the era of many a car enjoying the tour, are sure build a hearty appetite in readiness for a timely lunch at the famous Talbot Hotel in Tregaron.

2009 Classic Motor Show


Triumph TR6Coming the weekend after the Gwendraeth Tour on 16th August 2009, Gwendraeth valley motor club’s annual Classic Motor Show is the perfect opportunity to share your love of classic motoring with all.

This year a change of venue to the Welsh motor sports centre at Pembrey brings with it an interesting union that has the Classic Motor Show share the west Wales circuit with a new generation of car lover and the Carmarthenshire modified car show. Come along and show the youngsters that they didn’t invent the appreciation of motoring beauty. The classic motor show will reside in it’s own area adjacent to the fantastic facilities within the circuit paddock with the the F1 Bar most notably on hand for refreshments throughout the day.

Air Ambulance Wales will yet again be the more than worthy benficiary with all proceeds raised going to the lifesaving emergency service. But please if you feel as we do that this is a tremendous service and want to support them further pay them a visit at www.walesairambulance.com
